Census is a series of stories, one for each of the United States of America, written in order of statehood according to parameters generated using U.S. Census data, such that:
- The number of characters = state population/1,000,000
- The number of paragraphs = number of households/100,000
- The number of pages (print version) = land area/10,000
- The number of graphemes = number of housing units/1,000
- The narrator (an additional character) is determined by the first two digits after the decimal of A, so that .00-.33 = 1st person, .34-.66 = 2nd person, and .67-.99 = 3rd person
These stories were written one per week from January to December 2010.
